Quiet agricultural hilltop village
A quiet hilltop village on one of Malta's highest ridges — panoramic island views, agricultural heritage, and affordable village character.
Gharghur's ridge is so high that during WWII, the British military installed an anti-aircraft battery here — one of the highest defensive positions on the island. The village was hit by several bombs intended for the nearby airfield. A 16th-century chapel on the outskirts contains a painting attributed to a student of Caravaggio.
