Ancient western hilltop village
One of Gozo's oldest western villages — a picture-perfect square, traditional farmhouses, and sunset views from the island's quietest corner.
Gharb's main square contains what's believed to be the oldest freestanding private house in Gozo, with a date stone reading 1693. The village was the birthplace of several notable Gozitan canons and scholars. The name Gharb is simply the Arabic word for 'west', making it one of the most literally named places in Malta.
